Unpredictable People
People can be so unpredictable.
I met a man today. He was extremely tough-built with a bald head, heavy stubble, muscular build, bassy voice, and a borderline dominating gait. One look and you could tell, this wasn't the guy to mess with. He spoke with genuine seriousness and appeared all business. Until his phone rang, and on the screen flashed a picture of him with his daughter.
In the picture, his daughter stood by his side, as if to showcase him as her project. He had dark red lipstick and heavy makeup applied on his face, and was wearing a shiny tiara, enough to put a Disney princess to shame. He picked up the phone and went away to converse. I think he noticed that I'd seen the picture.
When he came back, he smiled at me and said, "That's my daughter. She has made a toy out of me," then unlocked his phone and showed me the picture. His body language suddenly molded into that of a warm teddy bear, making it difficult to believe that this was the same man who appeared so tough just a few minutes ago. I looked at the picture and said, "You're so lucky. You have such a pretty daughter." The man, beaming with obvious happiness, said, "Yes, the prettiest." And I knew he meant it.
He meant every letter of it.
